2027 Toyota Tundra Starts at $42,890, Adds New Trailhunter Package
Toyota priced the refreshed 2027 Tundra from $42,890. It adds a Trailhunter off-road package, trailer-assist tech and a standard 14-inch screen.

Toyota says the refreshed 2027 Tundra full-size pickup will start at an MSRP of $42,890 when it reaches dealerships, which the company expects in the fall of 2026. The update brings a new front end, an off-road Trailhunter package, upgraded TRD Pro shocks and a set of driver aids built for towing.
For shoppers, the biggest changes are standard equipment. Every 2027 Tundra gets a 14-inch touchscreen, a 12.3-inch digital gauge display, Toyota Safety Sense 4.0, a 32.2-gallon fuel tank, a tow hitch and a 7/4 pin trailer connector, Toyota said in its Nov. 5 announcement from Plano, Texas.
New Trailhunter package for overlanding
The Trailhunter package is based on the SR5 grade and is aimed at buyers who want a trail-ready truck from the factory, a style of long-distance off-road camping known as overlanding. It adds Michelin LTX Trail 265/70R18 tires, Old Man Emu suspension, front recovery hooks and extra underbody protection. It also includes 4WD, a locking rear differential, Crawl Control and Multi-Terrain Select. Bronze wheels, special badging and fog lamps with selectable colors set it apart visually.
The TRD Pro, Toyota’s top off-road grade, gets new adjustable FOX QS3 shocks tuned for the Tundra, red tow hooks, a brighter light bar and fog lights, available ISO-dynamic seats and an optional Honeycomb paint color.
Towing aids that read the trailer
Toyota is adding a suite of trailer-specific driver-assist systems. Automated Trailer Detection uses rear radars and a camera to sense a hitched trailer and measure it, then stores the details in the Trailer Garage menu, which now lives in the touchscreen instead of the gauge cluster.
- Trailer Blind Spot Monitor stretches the blind-spot zone to cover the length of the trailer.
- Trailer Lane Trace Assist gives steering help to keep the truck and trailer centered in a lane in certain conditions, including lane splits, uneven roads and some wind gusts.
- Trailer Backup Guide now shows moving on-screen guidelines, uses a slider control and adds semi-automated steering for reversing. It can plot a path to the trailer and help warn of jackknife risk.
The available i-FORCE MAX hybrid twin-turbo V6 makes 437 net combined horsepower and 583 lb.-ft. of torque, and Toyota rates maximum towing at up to 12,000 pounds. An available 2.4-kW inverter supplies onboard power for tools or camping gear.
Cabin tech and connected services
The new multimedia system, built by Toyota Connected North America, runs on AT&T 5G and has a configurable home screen. A built-in Drive Recorder dash cam uses the truck’s outside cameras to save 20-second clips, which owners can play back on the touchscreen, a first for a Toyota camera, according to the company. Digital Key works through a phone’s wallet app with a Remote Connect trial or subscription. Software called Arene, from Woven by Toyota, supports over-the-air updates.
All grades come with a 5-year trial of Remote Connect, Safety Connect and Service Connect, a 3-month Drive Connect trial and a 30-day Wi-Fi Connect trial. Those services depend on the 5G network.
What it means for buyers and owners
Buyers who tow get trailer tools that used to require aftermarket gear or extra care at the wheel, while the base truck gains a larger screen and the latest safety suite. Once the trial periods end, connected features such as Remote Connect will need a paid subscription for continued use.
Ride changes also matter for heavy users. Adaptive Variable Suspension is now standard on the Capstone grade, and a new combined AVS and air suspension option, offered on all grades, replaces the earlier air-only setup on some trims and supports load-leveling when towing or hauling.
Warranty coverage
Toyota’s basic warranty runs 36-month/36,000-mile, with powertrain coverage for 60 months or 60,000 miles and corrosion perforation for 60 months. Hybrid components are covered for 8 years/100,000 miles and the hybrid battery for 10 years/150,000 miles. ToyotaCare pays for scheduled maintenance for one year or 10,000 miles and includes 2 years of roadside assistance with unlimited mileage.
